Scientists found that, very probably, are discouraged. U.S. researchers studying 70 patients suffering from "broken heart syndrome", a disease associated with stress or emotional events. All patients successfully recovered, most were given aspirin after heart disease or drugs, even though 20 percent is considered severe pain.

Research shows the American cardiology journals, this is likely caused by increased stress hormones. Broken heart syndrome, which is medically called Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, was first defined by Japanese researchers in the early 1990s.

Although the symptoms are similar to heart attack, such as pain in the chest and shortness of breath, broken heart syndrome seems only temporary and can be cured, if treated quickly. Patients are examined by two researchers at the hospital Providence, Rhode Island, diagnosed with a broken heart syndrome between July 2004 and April 2008.

Spring Holiday

Approximately 67 percent of patients experiencing physical stress or emotional, such as bad news about family members, households in the fracas, a severe physical illness or accident before the vehicles are the symptoms that appear.

Six patients got electric shock treatment to revive the heart and three patients have normal tap the heart not requiring emergency treatment. Two patients-almost all women who have experienced menopause-pressure physical or emotional events before coming to the hospital with symptoms of exposure such as heart attack.

Overall, the majority of patients receive treatment of aspirin or drugs such as heart disease beta blockers and statins at the hospital. Although fifth in severe pain and require emergency care so that their lives can be saved, all patients remain alive in the first 48 hours and then total recovery.

The researchers also found that, unlike heart attack are likely to occur in winter, broken heart syndrome tend to occur in the spring and summer.

Rarely fatal

dr Richard Regnante Miriam from the hospital, the head of the research, said, this seasonal pattern can help to understand this disease. "Some parties see it is a form of heart attack that stopped sehigga itself does not damage the heart muscle on a permanent basis. The other said, this syndrome does not have relationships with the arterial and heart is only problem with the heart muscle," said Regnante.

"Because the pattern of seasonal syndrome broken heart that we learn different patients with heart attack, this study set, although it is not a verification that the theory that the latter may be true," he added.kompas.com
