USC University Hospital reported that honey can help ease chronic sinusitis.

One laboratory study conducted at the University of Ottawa found that the "natural rubber bacteria" in the honey can kill bacteria that cause sinusitis, "written by so-Oana Xinhuanet.

Some researchers try to test on the honeycomb material "biofilm" that contain the bacteria sinusitis, and indeed found that honey is more effective in killing bacteria than the anti-biotik, which is used traditionally.

Director of Pediatric Clinical Research at Penn State Dr. Ian Paul on the new study. "Bacteria does not grow well in the honey! There is data that honey to treat wound healing, destroy bacteria in the wounds developed on. So, not at all surprising that honey would effectively kill the bacteria in this."

Dr. Paul and a team at the Penn State College of Medicine completed a year ago another study, which found that honey is more effective than commercial cough medicines in ease coughing in children.

There are two types of honey the researchers found that Canada is most effective against sinusitis: Manuka honey from New Zealand and Sidr honey from Yemen.
